Don’t Merge Age Groups
The age groups are created for a very specific reason - ability and safety.
If the younger ones are playing with the older children, they will not only be unable to keep up but they may get knocked over and hurt by the older ones. For the older ones, they may feel the younger ones keep the game dumbed down and may get bored quickly. It’s a lose-lose situation.
In addition, the parents have booked a specific class for their childs’ age so it’s VITAL they stay in that age group.
If you have 1 or 2 in an age group, you may do the warm up together and possibly come together at the end for a group game like Dinosaur Hunter as long as you have checked with the parents first. But the majority of the session should be the age group on their own. Explain to the parents that you can play more games with more children but that you will keep an eye on their child when they’re altogether.
** Speak to them at the end of the session and make sure they’re OK about it as it is not what they booked
